| DPR/Thoratec Pharmaceutical Isolators Barrier |
- This system was designed for the safe handling of DMAC (dimethyl acetamide)
- The isolator ran as a continuous purge system, using nitrogen as working gas
The process involved starting from air, purging the main chamber down to a specific level of moisture and then placing product in the chamber through the outside door. Once the outside door was closed a chamber purging cycle was initiated and a red light was illuminated. Once the chamber was purged the red light would go off and a green light would turn on. This would signal to the operator that the inside door could be opened. If either door was opened prior to the completion of the cycle an alarm would sound and the cycle would have to be started from the beginning. If moisture went higher than the safety level the alarm would also sound. This system met class 1 division 1 groups C and D and had radius corners for ease of cleaning and a sloped floor to a drain for spill containment.
